Have only ever heard of him because of this song.

This song is better known. Was a hit for Elvin.

He played at my high school. A kid in the grade ahead of me managed to get Elvin Bishop and Tower of Power (before they were known) to raise money for band uniforms.

The kid, Scott Boorey, now manages Steve Miller. He's done well. I searched for his name out of curiosity a while back. I didn't know at the time that he was behind the show. They were always having bands at night there. Before I was into music, The Yardbirds with Jimmy Page played the football field there. Didn't catch on to the music until the following year.

Our high school in Michigan (Southfield) hosted The Who a few years before I got there.

World was different then.
