Gonna Sell My NGC Registry Loonie Set Ebay Link Provided.

Post by mdwoods »

Only complete set out there. Over half the coins are top pops. Had to cross a lot of ICCS graded coins and submit others raw. Here is a link to the set.
I'll update this post when it goes live on Great Collections. Gonna auction as a complete set though I will have many other loonies at auction too. Also a bunch of 67 and before Canadian silver dollars, most with attractive toning. I'm also including 6 or 7 NGC loonies that while technically are not part of the set I think should be included.

Great legacy.

I vote with the mariners on this. Hang on to the set if you can.

Dang, you guys make me have second thoughts about selling the set. Maybe I'll keep the set and sell of all the extra loonies I have, there are a bunch. Plus the Canadian Silver dollars.

What's the best way to sell such a set? Loonies are a very thin market in the US so would it be necessary to put it in an auction in Canada? Would it be better to sell it as a set or to sell each coin individually?

I really don't know, there is not a huge demand for loonies that I have seen. Maybe a couple thousand bucks.

My plans were to sell it as a complete set. Some coins have only a few slabbed for certain years.

So I didn't send the set off, I did send off about 100 coins, duplicate loonies, specimen loonies, commem loonies a few proof loonies, a couple of US coins and about 20 67 and earlier Canadian silver dollars, some with nice toning. I'll update this thread when Great Collections puts them online.

Put the registry set on ebay just to see if anyone was interested. Doesn't look promising. :O

Seems like a very good price to slide into a number one registry set position.

Might try NGC BST if they have one.
