Like most days FatMan and Mrs FM leave the house at dawn (today 7:04, Mrs FM times every hike ) for our almost daily hike on the AT. We live on the SW side of the ridge so it is always hard to see the path until we get right up on the ridge where the sun greets us.

Well, today about 600 yards from the house Mrs FM sticks her hiking pole right into a yellow jackets nest on the edge of the path. The nest collapses and there are hundreds on attack in seconds. Being in the lead Mrs FM only got stung 3 times, but lucky me being behind allowed all those fuddernutter to go crazy on me. I got stung at least 20-25 times. And I am sensitive to bee stings so I will look like the Michelin Man within the next few hours.

Those fuddernutter will all meet their demise at dawn tomorrow.

I can tell by everyone's concerns you all need an update.

Mrs FM made an anti sting solution (Ammonia and dish soap) and it has taken quite a bit of the sting out. Like I have said before, she is quite smart.

The benadryl is also doing its job. It's keeping some of the swelling down and so far my throat has not closed up.

Blast them good with Wasp and Hornet Spray. The spray goes a good 18 feet so your wife doesn't have to get too close to their nest when she kills them.
