I'm beginning to think the Poesia may have gone down like the Titanic.

Nah, she's now in the English Channel about halfway between Cherbourg and the Isle of Wight.

Ironic to navigate the globe and end the trip 7000 miles from home.

CR could no longer take the sad pairing of Chardonnay and Egg Fu Young. The odyssey was no longer worthy enduring. Sadly (for youse guys), CR survived the leap off his 12 deck lanai.
Not wanting to deviate, the ship dropped off a life preserver and sailed on. CR was picked up days later by a Swedish trawler carrying the women's Swedish football team. Player # 23, Helga, nursed CR back to health. Her warm D-cup breasticles brought CR back to consciousness, although it took several days.
He's since been reunited with Mrs. CR in Southampton who's had nonstop questions. CR has had selective amnesia... ...what happens above N66 stays above N66.

Glad the Renski clan has managed to survive their oceanic torment.
Now get your backsides back to O'ahu and get that pool finished stat.
BTW, we loved the Vrbo place we stayed at 3 years ago on Kailua Bay but it didn't have a pool!

Re: World Cruise 2024: MSC Poesia, Day 107 - Reykjavik.
Day 107 - Reykjavik.
Our excursion is Iceland's Golden Circle - Waterfalls, geysers, fissures. And mebbe we'll see smoe Northern Lights.
Gullfoss (Golden Waterfalls)
This rest stop serves Reyka small batch vodka.
Strokkur Geyser.
C'mon, youse can do better den dat.
That's the spirit!
Pingvellir National Park (Assembly of Fields)
The parks lies in a rift valley that marks the boundary between North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
Northern Lights: Mrs. CR and I walked out to this lighthouse to view the Northern Lights. It's 11 pm and still light.
The full moon is killing our vibe, our ship it lit up.
Minutes later our ship helps out by killing most of its lights but the freighter behind us just docked and needed lights to unload.
Midnight+ on the deck: Cruisers are out but unfortunately the Northern Light are not. There were people who paid big-bucks to go out on a tour in less lit areas and saw nothing. It's two months to the longest day and four months from the shortest day. It was a stretch.
I really wanted Mrs. CR to see them; I've seen them a bunch of times airborne. I stayed up until 3 am. Nada. Nix. Bupkis.

Re: World Cruise 2024: MSC Poesia, Day 108 - Reykjavik, Iceland.
Day 108 - Reykjavik, Iceland.
It's a short day, gotta be back on the boat by noon. Mrs. CR really wants me to see the main church.
We take the cruise shuttle bus to this interesting looking building(?)
The church is the tallest building in all of Iceland, it's also on a hilltop. Easy to see, we come around a corner and happen to find this rainbow street...
...with the church at the far end of the street.
Hallgrimskirkja, the Lutheran Church of Iceland. Construction began in 1945 and finished 41 years later in 1986.
The bell rang nine times as we admired the architecture and the door.
Inscription on the back of the Leif Ericsson has a dedication from the US as a gift to the Icelandic people for 1,000 years of Parliament (1930)
We have a coffee in here at Babalu's
The coffee shop is nutz. We love it.
We walk back to the cruise shuttle pickup down mural alley...
...and see this Viking statue of the founder of Reykjavik, Ingolfur Arnarson.

Missed most of the original posts in this thread, probably over 90%. Perhaps CR could repost all the photos in one post to make viewing them easier for me. Either original or enhanced commentary and captions being a must.

Very cool pics. I was surprised to see so many people at the waterfall place.
Also... that "church" ain't fooling me. It's obvious that the "church" itself is a giant space ship ready to leave this God-Forsaken planet far behind.

That was my first thought. Looks like the space shuttle. All aboard for the rapture! HLT is not welcome!!!

The landscape is very cool. Walking through "tectonic plates" that you can see really sets the imagination going... Did you feel any tremors?
That church is definitely alien spacecraft

I hope they don’t go through a phase of tearing down their statues like some other lost countries have.

With only a couple of cruise days left I am sure CR will be glad to rid the stress of world cruising and will be cherishing the relaxation of getting his pool built.
